About the Mountains near Lech

The resort boasts an impressive 305 kilometers (190 miles) of slopes and 88 lifts across the entire Arlberg ski area, which also includes the neighboring resorts of St. Anton, St. Christoph, and Zürs. With a variety of terrain, Lech offers everything from gentle blue runs perfect for beginners to challenging black runs for advanced skiers. The resort is also famous for its extensive off-piste and freeride areas, making it a top destination for those seeking adventure.

Lech is known for its snow reliability, with its high-altitude position and north-facing slopes providing excellent conditions throughout the ski season, often well into April. The resort is connected to Zürs, which offers a seamless experience for those looking to explore even more varied terrain.

Beyond skiing, Lech offers plenty of other activities, including cross-country skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, and ice skating.

Most of the slopes are treeless with the lower runs below Oberlech being the exception. The Blue runs back to the village are steep and not suitable for the beginner. There is easy access to the tougher slopes of St Anton and other Alberg resorts but very few tough pistes so most expert skiers should go off piste and on other ski routes. Most of the tougher runs in the resort are unpatrolled which are not avalanched protected and should only be skied on when accompanied by a guide.
