Pamplona Travel Information
The beautiful city of Pamplona is situated near the majestic Pyrenees Mountains, just 92kms from the town of San Sebastian. This medieval city is a year-round top tourist destination for families on holiday and jet-setters alike.
Pamplona gained worldwide notoriety when Earnest Hemingway wrote the classic novel The Sun Also Rises, causing countless adventure seekers to participate in the enthralling and dangerous Running of the Bulls. This activity is a well-known feature of the Sanfermines festival held in June through July.
The people of Pamplona enjoy an extremely high standard of living, one of the highest in Spain. The wealth here can be seen throughout the city with a range of designer shops and boutiques as well as elegant restaurants and cafes. The city also enjoys a vibrant nightlife with trendy bars, English pubs, clubs and live music venues.

Sporty tourists will enjoy the numerous options on offer. Spectators can visit the Estadio Reyno de Navarra Stadium to see the CA Osasuna (the local football team) play an exciting game.
For visitors seeking a peaceful respite, the area just south of Pamplona is filled with lush hills and stunning views, while in the northern area visitors can explore forests. Puente la Reina, a small village near Pamplona, is thought by many to be one of the most attractive places in the entire country. It has an 11th century bridge and ancient walls protecting it. Pamplona itself is filled with emerald landscapes, dramatic architecture, quaint neighbourhoods and cobbled streets.
The city has a number of tourist attractions such as the Museum of Navarra. This museum contains an outstanding collection of Flemish paintings on copper as well as a painting by Goya entitled Marquis of San Adrianx. Other noteworthy attractions include the Palace of Navarra and the gorgeous La Taconera Park where visitors can see deer, swans, dwarf goats and colourful peacocks grandly strutting through the park.
