A recent study conducted by a website suggests that many UK travellers embark on risky adventures on their holidays.

The study found that 37% of British holidaymakers were tempted to try risky adrenaline-pumping activities while holidaying abroad. Londoners were found to have the most daredevil impulses on holiday, with 46% of the people admitting they have rteid their hand at some rather hazardous sporting activities like bungee jumping, parasailing and white water rafting, while the Welsh were found to be the most conservative, with on 28% taking extreme sporting risks.

The study, conducted by moneysupermarket.com, also found that male travellers were more likely to take holiday risks, with 41% of the men studied saying they have embarked on adrenaline-fuelled jaunts. Women, with 33% admitting to having partaken in similar activities, were found to be less risk-taking. The ratios were further skewed when ages were analysed, with younger Brits tending to be much more adventurous.

Activities like horseback riding, jet skiing and scuba diving were among the most popular with Brits on holiday abroad, the study revealed.

The study suggested that travellers who tend to impulsively partake in dangerous activities would do well to carefully consider their travel insurance policies.

Many activities like bungee jumping and rafting may not be included in travel policies, and holidaymakers would be well-advised to completely familiarise themselves with the details in their travel insurance before they follow any daredevil urges.
