Austria Ski Resort Guide for Zell am See

Zell am See Ski Resort Guide

About the Resort

This is a long established all year round resort. It is not a rustic village like most of its Austrian rivals but a lakeside summer resort town. It is set between a large lake and a mountain. It has a charming traffic free medievel centre.

About the Mountains near Zell am See

Zell's montain is horse shoe shaped. The easier runs are along the open ridges with steeper pistes descending through woods to the Schmittental. The slopes are varied but limited and they can suffer from too much sun although most are now well covered by snow guns. For the size of the resort it has a more than its share of steep slopes. Theres a good choice of intermediate slopes. . Beginners have small nursery slopes at the cable car area.

Après Ski at Zell am See

The apres ski is lively and varied with tea dances and high calorie cafes. Bars and discos are aplenty to keep the night owls happy. Live music and tv bars keep the party animals happy.
