Italy Ski Resort Guide for Livigno

Livigno Ski Resort Guide

About the Resort

This resort is a string of hotels, bars and shops. It is comprised of three villages in a valley near the Swiss border. The hamlet of Livigno is the nearest it gets to having a village centre. It is a relatively cheap resort with duty free shopping a bonus. The free bus service is good but can become a little too overcrowded. This resort suffers a five hour transfer time from Bergamo.

About the Mountains near Livigno

The three main sectors are suitable for moderate and intermediate skiers. They are mainly open and are located on either side of the valley. The resort suffers from closure due to high winds. Most of the runs return towards the village, however, there are some on the nack of the mountain where the drags have been recently replaced with a six pack. This resort is not recommended for the expert but intermediates will have a lot to keep them happy as will the beginner who will enjoy the nursery slopes as well as the longer runs.

Après Ski at Livigno

The resort has many good hotel based restaurants as well as a good smattering of mountain eateries of good quality. The apres ski is not too lively and some may find it a bit stagnant in a village resort that lacks a real centre. It does have some bars and live music.
