About the Resort
The resort of Grindelwald is set either side of a road lying in a valley. The village has traditionaly styled chalet buildings set in magnificent scenery directly beneath the north face of the Elger. It holds an ice carving festival in January. There is quite a lot to do apart from skiing such as tobogganing and heli trips.
About the Mountains near Grindelwald
There is a mix of wooded and open slopes higher up. The area of slopes is shared with Wengen and are overall suited to the intermediate skier who would appreciate the gentle long reds and blues. The area is limited for experts. Some of the nursery slopes can suffer from too much sun and overcrowded conditions.
Après Ski at Grindelwald
There is a wide choice of mountain restaurants offering some good food. The apres ski is relaxed and varied with a number of discos and bars.
