Park City Ski Resort Guide

About the Resort

This once large silver mining town with its increasingly touristy Wild West style image has become a popular choice as a central location for visiting other resorts. Deer Valley, Snowbasin and The Canyons are within easy driving distance. It's centre, Main Street, is relaxed, beautifully restored and has lively bars and restaurants. There are art galleries, shops and and boutiques in the centre but the resort tends to sprawl without much purpose after that.

About the Mountains near Park City

The resort is best known for its blue and black trails that cut through the trees. The top of the resort has the lightly wooded bowls that many find the most interesting terrain. Experts will be happy with all the variety with a good choice of either single or double diamond runs. Intermediates will find there are lots of blue runs served by all the main lifts. Although the resort does lack long, fast cruising runs and many skiers take a trip to nearby Deer Valley or The Canyons for variety. Beginners are well catered for with lots of gentle slopes to graduate to.

Après Ski at Park City

There are plenty of self service restaurants dotted around serving a variety of food styles at reasonable prices. The resort itself has over 100 restaurants to choose from but they can all get very busy. The bars are hostage to Utahs arcane liquor laws and some require membership.
