Travel Insurance for Heart Attacks

Heart attacks are generally caused by coronary heart disease, which is when your coronary arteries narrow, due to a gradual build-up of atheroma (fatty material) within their walls. If the fatty material becomes unstable, a piece may break off and lead to a blood clot forming. This clot can block the coronary artery, which then starves your heart of blood and oxygen. This causes damage to your heart muscle which is a heart attack, also calles acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction or coronary thrombosis.

Getting a heart attack or heart condition can be for many reasons but taking regular exercise and a healthy diet are ways in preventing heart attacks and angina. Stress, smoking, alcohol and high blood pressure are all risk factors that can increase the incidence of a heart attack.
